“元宵节”的英文对应为 the Lantern Festival，亦可称为 the Spring Lantern Festival 或 the Festival of Lantern。无论何种称谓，均离不开 lantern /’læntən/，其意为“灯笼”。元宵节的核心习俗之一便是悬挂灯笼，因此该节日亦被称为“灯节”，英文中需表述为 the Lantern Festival。

众多学员曾向吉米老师提问，关于节日前是否需添加 the，为何“圣诞节” Christmas 前不加 the，而元宵节却需添加？通常情况下，西方节日前不加 the，而中国传统节日前则可加可不加。
