英语重点难点精讲：consider和regard用法详解
◎ consider是一个及物动词，它的用法十分丰富。
当表示“考虑”时，其基本结构为：
consider doing sth.
consider+代词/连接副词+不定式
consider+what从句
例如：我正在考虑你的计划。句子可以表达为”I’m considering your plan.”；你应该考虑如何做。可以表达为”You should consider how to do it.”。我正在考虑给她写信可以表达为”I’m considering writing to her.”等等。
当表示“认为，把……看作”时，其基本结构为：
consider sb. to do sth.
consider sb./sth.+（to be/as）+宾语补足语（名词，形容词）
consider sb./sth.+宾语补足语（分词，介词短语）
consider+that从句
例如：他认为她要照料家务，可以表达为”He considered her to keep the house.”；她认为自己很幸运可以表达为”She considered herself lucky.”等等。值得注意的是，”consider后的宾语补足语为名词或形容词时，to be或as可以用，也可以不用。”这一点在使用时需要注意。另外需要注意的是，”consider表示“考虑”时，后面不跟不定式。”这是一个常见的误区，需要特别注意。例如，”She considered to talk with him.”是错误的用法，”She considered talking with him.”才是正确的用法。”consider和regard…as都可以表示“看作”，但它们的语义有所不同。”Consider更多的是经过深思熟虑后的结论，而”regard…as则更偏向于简单的看待或认为”。例如，”He regarded her as a selfish woman.”与”He considered her to be a selfish woman.”意思相似，但侧重点有所不同。在日常使用中可以根据语境进行选择使用。而其他诸如look upon A as B，see A as B等也含有相似的含义。关于他们的使用例句包括：”They regard him as a fool.”以及他们认为他是一位优秀的老师可以表达为：”We think of him as a wonderful teacher.”或”We think him to be a wonderful teacher.”这样形象生动地表述这些表达方式的差异将更加直观明了地展现出各个词汇的不同用法和含义。
